Year 7/8 congratulations must go to Emily Farley our poster winner!!
The design brief was for the poster to be titled, have 4 healthy eating “instructions”, be colourful and advertise (a) healthy food choice (s). The judges liked Emily’s clear, colourful and concise message.

1st - Emily Farley
2nd –Sophie George and Jessica Gregory
3rd Joanna Mc Donald and Adrianna Brasier

Year 9s are busy trailing and testing their ice cream flavours developed from suggestions made by the children in St Pats Yr 3 and 4 classes. We go back on Thursday for them to actually taste test and rank them.

The Year 10 group have completed their final assessment “Batter in a Bottle” designed to be given as a gift to that “Someone Special”. There was a huge variance in product as well as packaging, highlighting students’ differences in interest and ability levels. During the past week we have been designing, trialling (and eating)!  hamburgers which have had a number of constraints placed on the ingredients used, though they are still required to meet the overall performance specifications.

Years 11 and 12 are working steadily on their individual projects, be they Achievement or Unit Standards. There is some really interesting concepts being developed and I’m sure those lucky enough to be chosen as stakeholders, are following the product development keenly.

Happy eating
Jane O Donnell
