Mr Grant Miles
I grew up in Marton a small town in the Rangitikei. I completed teacher training in Auckland returning to teach at Rangitikei College for eleven years the last 5 as HOD Technology. I moved to Wellington and taught at Petone College and then St Patrick’s College in Wellington. From there I moved to Garin College as a Head of Faculty with additional responsibilities as an Assistant Prinicpal with NZQA and NCEA responsibilities before becoming an adviser for Support Services at Christchurch College of Education. After three years advising I returned to school at Verdon College in Invercargill as Deputy Principal prior to taking up my current role as Principal of Chanel College.
I believe very strongly in treating others as I would like to be treated myself. I set high expectations for myself, and believe that all students should strive to achieve personal excellence. That means doing their best academically, culturally, socially and spiritually. I am looking forward to my time at the College and to making a positive contribution to its continued growth and development.
